Any Participant interested by a shuttle from Maastricht conference center to Verviers conference hotel (indicative price : 20 euros by person if the shutlle is shared) should send an email to the organizers.
Reaching the Conference by plane:
Connections, flight frequency and fares will vary according to your departure city. Several airports are located near Liège.
- Liège Airport (the closest airport, but limited number of destinations)
- Maastricht Airport (located in the Netherlands, where the 17th International congress on Photosynthesis research will take place)
- Brussels Airport (largest and best connected airport of Belgium)
- Charleroi/Brussels South Airport (many low-cost options)
Once arrived at one of these airports, the easiest solution is to go to the Verviers train station, then to follow the instructions detailed below (5 min walk).
Reaching the Conference using public transportation (train/bus):
The easiest way to reach Verviers by train is to arrive at the Verviers Central station, that is well connected to Liège-Guillemins station which is connected to many Belgian, Dutch, German, French and British cities. The Belgian rail company (SNCB/NMBS) provides both national and international travel information (timetables, route planner, fees, ticket booking, etc.).
Once at the station, you can either walk (5 minutes) or take a taxi in front of the station.
To circulate inside Verviers by bus, information can be obtained from TEC, the Liège bus company.

A well-developed networks of motorways (E42, E40, E25) makes access to verviers by car fairly easy.
